Aston Villa Foundation Launches New STEM Programme
The Aston Villa Foundation announced the launch of its new STEM programme in October, which will be available to schools as part of the Foundation’s schools’ provision.
The programme is funded by the Millennium Point Charitable Trust and will allow children to learn about new technologies and be inspired by them to create more. Students will learn about coding and programming by using robots and robotics tools provided by Sphero, EFDN’s strategic partner in its pan-European STEM Network.
Schools Manager Paul Hughes has said that “the aim is to engage and inspire children in STEM skills as the world we live in is ever evolving through technology.
“Using the power of football to begin to unlock learning potential, we bring this equipment and this programme to your school.”
The Aston Villa Foundation will be targeting schools in its local community around Villa Park: Erdington, Ladywood and Perry Barr.
